At Hughes Natural Medicine, we are rooted in Five Element Acupuncture. This means we are trained through the teachings of J R Worsley at The Academy for Five Element Acupuncture. We treat based on the whole individual, not just the symptoms. We look to nature and the seasons to find balance and inform our practice.

Acupressure and acupuncture are the cornerstone of our practice at Hughes Natural Medicine. Our practitioners use their fingers, small metal tools, and fine, sterile needles to stimulate specific points on the body, helping to restore balance and promote healing. Stimulation of acupuncture points can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, including pain, stress, anxiety, and digestive disorders.
Cupping is a therapeutic technique that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. Gua sha is a theraputic technique that involves scraping the skin to pull toxins and stagnation to the surface. These help to increase circulation, reduce inflammation, and promote balance and relaxation. They can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including muscle pain, respiratory issues, and anxiety.
Moxabustion is a warming and nourishing Chinese medicine technique. It involves the burning of ground mugwort leaves in a stick near the skin's surface or in a cone on the skin's surface at specific acupuncture points. It can be used to increase circulation and help with a wide range of issues including pain, digestive issues, and temperature regulation.
Shonishin is an ancient Japanese technique used to to treat babies and children. It is a gentle practice that involves using small metal tools in light tapping and brushing movements on the skin. The treatments I’ve received by Jordan have impacted my healing journey in ways I didn’t know were possible. I was at an emotionally low point in my life when I sought out care from him. Jordan’s intuitive nature flowed into his treatment plans as they assisted me in moving through some difficult points in my life that occurred at once; the passing of my grandmother, ending of a long term relationship, and I was in the final stages of nursing school. Jordan is an incredibly gifted practitioner, he actively listened to my concerns, and addressed them with compassion and confidence. I can’t thank him enough for all he has helped me with.

Kate treated me after a severe car accident that affected both my physical and mental health. During our sessions Kate made me feel heard, safe, and validated in my experience. Her empathetic approach created a space of healing for me that I am continuously grateful for, and I consistently seek her out for treatments. I wouldn’t be where I am today on my healing journey without Kate and her acupuncture practice.

Big things come in quiet packages. This is absolutely true with Jordan Hughes! Jordan has a knowledge base that is as broad as it is deep. He knows his stuff, but more importantly he knows how to “listen” to people AND he knows how to “hear” people! Jordan has helped me immensely in dealing with my PTSD and my depression. I don’t really know anything about pressure points, the flow of energy in the body, or anything like that, but Jordan absolutely does. And Jordan’s help has made me a very grateful believer.

Kate is a thoughtful and intentional practitioner. My experience has always been wonderful; she listens and takes the time to ensure she has treated each of my concerns.
